bacon strip, seattle’s longest running drag show, legendarily hosts the ms. bacon strip pageant annually in may. former winners include jinx monsoon, bobbie jo blessings, old witch, and countless other members of seattle drag royalty. when current reigning ms. bacon strip 24/25 shoctavia approached me to help film part of her step-down act at the 2025 pageant, we had to pull out all of the stops. the brief included clips from ms. piggy’s water ballet spectacular, esther williams, and scarlett johansson in hail, ceasar! i called in all of my favors in the greater seattle synchronized swimming community and choreographed, directed, and filmed a 30s montage shown mid-act providing time for a fabulous quick-change reveal.
